Pastor Edward J. Brown

Pastor Edward J. “Ed” Brown, 77, of Eaton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Richmond, Indiana. Born on March 20, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late James R. & Lola Brown.

Pastor Ed started his preaching career 40 plus years ago. He served in West Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio, including Seven Mile and Collinsville Presbyterian churches. He retired from the Somerville Community Church where he was the founding father of the church. He loved his dogs, gave to many charitable causes, and loved sharing the word of God. He volunteered for the local Special Olympics and enjoyed attending community events and festivals.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Nephew: William “Billy” Hoey, II, and many Aunts and Uncles.

Survived by his Daughters: Jennifer Grace (Barry) Koch and Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” (Benjamin) Kreger; Sister: Carolyn Hoey; Grandchildren: Jacob Kreger, Kelsey Koch, and Carly Koch; Nieces Patricia (Hoey) Carrothers, and Susan (Hoey) Cisco

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Somerville Community Church, 207 South Walnut Street, Somerville Ohio with Pastor Mark Crary officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at the church.
