Opal Hibbard

OPAL HIBBARD, age 72, of Camden, Ohio, died Friday, January 18, 2008, 1:20 p.m., at her residence. Born on May 6, 1935 in Clay County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Omer and Chloe (Hoskins) Gilbert. Due to her mother’s illness and death, she was raised by the late Green and Ollie Mae Bowling. She had been retired for several years after caring for the elderly in their homes in the Camden area. On April 20, 1954, in Hamilton, Ohio, she married William Hibbard, after 45 years of marriage he died on October 30, 1999. Preceded in death by sisters: Verta Langdon and Bertha Javery; brother: Gillis Bowling.

Survived by sons: Michael and his wife Kathy Hibbard of Hamilton, Ohio, Mark and his wife Heather Hibbard of Camden, Ohio; daughters: Janice and her husband John Wyatt of Camden, Ohio, Debbie Shull of Camden, Ohio, Connie and Bill Bishop of Camden, Ohio; sisters: Gertrude (Ray) Hacker of Beavercreek, Ohio, Cledith (Don) Bent of Beavercreek, Ohio, Nora (Clinton) Davidson of Hamilton, Ohio and Ezell DeMoss of Dayton, Ohio; brothers: Bradley Gilbert of Dayton, Ohio, Cecil (Mary) Bowling of Medora, Indiana and Ledford Bowling of Oneida, Kentucky. Ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Higher Heights Church of God, 8111 U.S. Rte. 127 South, Camden, Ohio with the Rev. Marvin D. Hocker and Speaker Larry Davidson, very dear family friend officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
