Opal E. Kelley

Opal Elizabeth Kelley, 93 of New Paris, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her residence. She was born on October 22, 1920 in Slab Fork, Raleigh County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson & Macy Jane (Meadows) Reed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Troy A. Kelley in 1986; a son, Earl Kelley in 1936; brothers, Jack and William Reed; sisters, Florence Meadows and Lula Mae Simmons and a granddaughter, Karen Kelly.

Opal is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Nelda Kelly; daughters and sons-in-law, Darcas & Elmer "Wayne" Kirkpatrick and Dorothy & Paul "Dick" Frist all of New Paris; grandchildren, Curtis (Ann) Kelly, Troy (Margaret) Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Jr., Karen Kelly, Kellie Whirley, Gregg (Tracie) Frist, Rhonda (Duane) Pickett and Darin Kirkpatrick; twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio 45347 with Rev. Jeff Ginter officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
