Norma J. Drew, 84 of Trotwood, OH, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 at her residence. Born on August 25, 1931 in Breathitt County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Sheridan & Sinda (Fields) Spencer.

Norma retired from Dayton Public Schools after 30 years of service in 1997. She was a 1949 graduate of Eaton High School and a member of the Providence Lutheran Church, Brookville, OH. She loved family more than anything. She was often the coordinator of gatherings and she always said, "The more the merrier". Mom was an excellent cook and loved feeding family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio where she taught Sunday School for 18 years. She was a deacon, she belonged to the Women's Circle, and she was a member of the Altar Guild. After moving out of Dayton, she joined Providence Lutheran Church in Brookville. She was the camping director for Campfire Girls and she designed and made costumes for Mary Dickens' Dance school which her three daughters attended. She belonged to the PTA and was room mother for all four of her children. She was an avid mushroom hunter, Volksmarcher, walker and gardener. She loved nature and loved to travel, both at home and abroad. She was loved by everyone who knew her for her selfless good nature, her quick wit, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of all people. She was the best wife, mother and grandmother anyone could ask for and we will miss her always.

Survived by her Husband of 63 years: Ralph H. Drew, Jr.; Children: June Ann (Bob) Klingensmith, Centerville, OH, Jean Ellen Drew, Trotwood, OH, Jan Susan (Mike) Stimmel, Delaware, OH and James Spencer (Shana) Drew, Englewood, OH; Sisters: Glenda (Robert) Davidson, Ocala, FL, Thanna (Rev. Dr. Gary) Elfner, Hornsby, TN and Pam S. Spencer, Herndon, VA; Brothers: Rev. Lowell T. (Carol) Spencer, Dr. Stanley (Helen B.) Spencer and Roy A. (Diana L.) Spencer, all of Eaton, OH; Grandchildren: Robin (James) Wynn, James (Gwen) Klingensmith, Drew Stimmel, Paige Stimmel, Brent Drew, Jared Spears and Paige Spears. Great Grandchildren: Kaeden Spears and Brooklyn Klingensmith. Sister-in-laws: Pat (Steve) Steplowski, Mary (Julius) Jaskot and Carol (Burden) Spencer, Pleasant Plain, OH; Numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 – 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
