Nick Vaniman

NICHOLAS R. "NICK" VANIMAN, 69, of Eldorado, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio. Nick was born on November 25, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Robert L. & Annabelle (Arnett) Vaniman. He was a member of the Eaton High School Class of 1961. He farmed alongside his father and in 1973 they started the Vaniman Lumber & Pallet Co. The name changed to J & N Products in 1989, which Nick operated until his retirement in 2000. He and his wife Jill are the owners & operators of the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home in Eldorado. Nick was a past member of the Eldorado Lions Club; served on the village Council for 18 years and served as President of the Board of Public Affairs in Eldorado. He enjoyed collecting and restoring 2-cylinder John Deere tractors.

Nick is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Jill (Bussard) Vaniman; children, Robin L. & Robert Brunk of Eldorado, Tiana R. White of Eldorado and David A. & Christa White of Brookville, Ohio; former step children, Tommy E. & Tonya Hicks and family of Eaton, Ohio and Samantha J. & Chris Alcorn and family of New Paris, Ohio; sister, Nancy A. Hudson of Eaton; nephew, Richard "Rick" & Patricia Hudson of Greenville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Ronald M. Bussard of Eldorado and niece, Jeanine K. Bussard of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Samuel Ryder Nicholas Roberts and Sean Michael Van Roberts both of Eldorado, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main Street, Eldorado, Ohio with Pastor Kathy Brawley officiating. Interment will be held in Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
