Nevina Duck Colwell

NEVINA "DUCK" (JOHNSON) COLWELL, age 63, of Camden, Ohio, died, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at McCullogh Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born on April 20, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Winford & Nina (Parker) Johnson. Duck retired from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio after 12 years as a food service worker. Past President of the VFW, Ladies Auxillary, Post 1577 of Camden, Ohio. Former member of the Camden Pentecostal Church. Duck was active in community service and she lived her life through selfless giving to others.

Preceded by her daughter, Laurie Ann Colwell in 1966; sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson in 2009.

Survived by her daughters, Beverly Colwell Thomas of Charlotte, North Carolina and Jodie Colwell Bowlin of Amargosa Valley, Nevada; brothers & sister-in-law, Barney & Mary Johnson of Arcadia, Florida and Jimmy Johnson of Germantown, Ohio; sister & brother-in-law, Patricia & John Bingham of Nacogodoches, Texas; grandchildren, Ikenna, Misty Dawn and Nina Elisa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio with Rev. Bob Gray officiating. Interment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the funeral home. VFW, Ladies Auxillary service at 12:45 p.m. Family & Friends Gathering at the VFW post in Camden after the committal service at the cemetery.
