Mildred Lellea Steel, age 101, of Collinsville, OH passed away on April 17, 2015. She was born on August 31, 1913 near Camden, OH to James and Nora (Wetzel) Lumley. She was the second of five children and is preceded in death by her siblings: Earl, Frances (Mobley), Mary (Moyer), Susie (Shelley), James; her husband of 69 years, Norman; her sons: Norman Eugene, Clarence Roger, Theodore Russell; and her grandchildren Norman Scott and Jennifer Elizabeth.
In 1932, she graduated from Gratis High School and in 1934 married her soul mate, Norman. She is survived by 2 of their 5 children, Peggy Jane (William) Campbell of West Harrison, IN and Debra Sue (Ashley) Valentine of West Chester, OH; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mildred was a farmer and worked side by side with her husband throughout their lives. She lived independently on their farm until the age of 98 when she moved to Kettering with her son, Ted and his wife Marian who tenderly cared for her. She was a faithful member of the Collinsville Presbyterian Church and a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years.
Funeral service will be held at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home in Camden, OH on Saturday, April 25, 2015 with visitation at 12:00pm and service to follow at 1:00pm with Rev. Edward J. Brown officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
