Mike Ooten

Mike Ooten, 71 of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on March 14, 1950 in New Castle, Indiana, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. & Anna V. (Wray) Ooten. Mike was a Chief Technician and Engineer for many years with Jackson Cable, Centel Cable and Time-Warner for 32 years. He was a 1968 graduate Blue River High School in Mooreland, Indiana. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and loved to fish and was an avid golfer. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and loved joke telling.  

He is survived by his Wife of 52 years: Melinda J. (Bryant) Ooten; Daughters: Stacia Ooten and Bethany Cornett; Grandchildren: Mya Couch, Anna Kohler, Kyla Simpson, Colton Kohler, Emma Simpson, Case Kohler and Cayden Milne; Great Grandchildren: Olivia Bettker, Avery Roark and Eden Kohler; Brothers: Ray (Edie) Ooten and Ralph (Barbara) Ooten. Nieces and Nephews. 

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Susan Haney officiating. Inurnment will be held in Dayton National Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
