Maurine L. Bowen

Maurine L. (Gray) Bowen, 88, of Eaton, OH, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on June 8, 1925 in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of the late Otto & Olive B. (Lightbody) Gray.

Maurine had worked for Kroger in Eaton and later worked at Miller's Supermarket in the produce department. She loved to make quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also worked with the Preble Council on Aging in the mid 1980's.

Preceded in death by Husband of 66 years: Woodrow I. "Woody" Bowen on June 7, 2012; Grandchildren: Mark Kleinberg and Vonita Bowen.

Survived by Children: Glen (Norma Crothers) Bowen, Eaton, OH, Kay (Tim) Richardson, Deland, FL, Wayne I. (Carol) Bowen, New Paris, OH and Gene C. Bowen, Los Angeles, CA; 7 grandchildren: Glenda (Will) Henry, Sheila (Scott) Robkin, John (Valerie) Kleinberg, Angela (Jeremy) Laird, Todd Shiflett, Lisa (Brett) Pierce and Jill (Rick) Reedy; 19 great grandchildren including Adam Shiflett and 7 great great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. No public calling.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad, P.O. 27, Eaton, OH 45320. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, OH.
