Marydale (Fuhrman-Ryman) Barnes, 77, of 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio died Saturday evening, April 2, 1994 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Mrs. Barnes fell Tuesday evening at her residence and broke her hip. She developed other complications and died Saturday evening. Born on July 24, 1916 in College Corner, Butler County, Ohio she was the daughter of Carl and Myrtle Belle (Jenkins) Fuhrman. After the death of her mother in 1917, she was adopted by her Aunt & Uncle Charles & Laura (Jenkins) Ryman. She was a 1934 West Alexandria High School graduate and attended The Ohio State University for 2 1/2 years majoring in music and art. She won the ladies' golf championship tournament in 1939 and in 1951 was first flight runner-up at the Eaton Country Club. She had been active in the business operations of Barnes Funeral Homes, Inc. for many years. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Eaton, D.A.R. Commodore Preble, Preble County Art Association, Preble County Historical Society, Gleaners #182 order of Eastern Star of West Alexandria and Honorary member of Omicron Sigma Sorority. Preceded in death by four Brothers: Merle Richard Fuhrman in 1906, Paul Marion Fuhrman in 1938, Mark Jenkins Fuhrman in 1982 and Donald W. Fuhrman in 1990; Sister: Dorothy Elizabeth Bisch Miller in 1992.
Survivors: Husband of 56 years, Robert W. Barnes; Two Sons and Daughters-in-law: Robert C. & Sharon J. Barnes and Bruce L. & Rayna E. Barnes, all of Eaton; Five grandchildren, Brian R. & Erin M. Barnes of Lewisburg, Ohio Stephen A. & Lori R. Barnes of Brookville, Ohio; Michael H. Barnes of Kent State University, Ohio, William W. Barnes and Julie A. Barnes, both of Eaton; Two Great-Grandchildren: Matthew B. and Christina D. Barnes of Lewisburg.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 6, 1994 - 11:00 A.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Dr. Phillip D. Malone and Rev. Craig H. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Eaton Emergency Squad.
