Mary Lou Melton, age 73, of Camden, OH, died, Monday, November 2, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. Born on September 13, 1936 in Camden, Preble County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Eugene & Virginia (Martin) Hickman. Mary Lou was past Mayor of Camden and had served on the Camden town Council for several years. She had been a Preble Shawnee School Bus Driver for 8 years and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Camden serving as the WMU leader for one year.
Survived by her husband of 54 years: Raleigh Melton; Daughters & sons-in-law: Nancy Melton of Fairfield, OH, Jenny & Jerry Jones and Cindy & Tracy Keller both of Camden, OH; Brother & sister-in-law: Larry & Deb Hickman of Camden; Sisters: Jeanie Baldwin, Kaye Michael and Faye Clark all of Camden, OH; Grandchildren: Micheal Hale & Keisha McDavid, Jaclyn & Jason Erbaugh and Sara & Jason McKee; Great Grandson: Jacob Erbaugh; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 35 North Liberty Street, Camden, OH with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
