MARY JEANNETTE FLORY- ROHE-YOST, died February 5, 2008 at her residence at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond, Indiana. She was born on February 9, 1917 in Eaton,(Preble County) Ohio. She married John William Rohe on April 6, 1940 and on June 20, 1987 she married Kenneth J. Yost. Mary Jeannette was trained as a nurse at Reid Memorial Hospital and became a mother and homemaker. She later became a retail merchant as an owner and manager of Bartel and Rohe Gifts, Inc. at the Richmond Square Mall in Richmond. She was a Master bridge player and an expert in duplicate bridge. She was an active member of the First English Lutheran Church in Richmond where she was involved with the Dorcas Circle. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton. She was also an active volunteer at the Reid Memorial Hospital and with the Meals on Wheels program in Richmond. Mary Jeannette was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond and the Eaton Country Club in Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Linden Flory in 1971 and her mother, Blanche Eby Flory in 1950; her first husband, John William Rohe in 1985 and her second husband, Kenneth J. Yost in 2004; her grandson SPC Jack T. Tucker in 1997; her brother, R. Eugene Flory in 1969; her sisters, Bessie G. Flory in 1915 and Anna Jane Hildebolt in 2006.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Carolyn Kinyon of Richmond; sons, George William (Brenda) Rohe of Charlotte, North Carolina and Jack Meredith (LouAnne) Rohe of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter, Alice Eby Rohe (Robert) Smith of Elmhurst, Illinois; two step sons, Jack and Bill Yost ; 13 grandchildren: Margaret Maione (Robert), Jan Marie Urso (Robert), John Tucker( Donna), Caroline Smith, Allison Waters (Lee), Laura Moody (David), Jay Rohe (Heidi), Julie Ripperger (Mike), Jennifer Butler, Suzanna Spurrier (Mike), Erin Maguire, Elizabeth Rohe and John Rohe; and 22 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, 123 W. Decatur Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. After the service a luncheon will be held for family and friends. Following the luncheon interment will be held in Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320.
