Mary Hope Miller

MARY HOPE MILLER, age 86, of Eaton, Ohio, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton. Born on June 9, 1922 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Oliver John & Mary Althea (Kintz) Ritzert. She was a 1940 graduate of Stivers High School and a 1944 graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing both in Dayton, OH. Hope was a nurse in the Eaton area for over 35 years and had worked for Dr. John Darrow for many years. Member of the Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Association for over 60 years, the Eaton Church of the Visitation, the St. Anne's Sodality, Alpha Garden Club, Red Hat Society, the Y.M.C.A., and the Preble County Council on Aging. Hope also enjoyed volunteering for the local schools. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Miller in 1990; sons, Thomas A. Miller in 1993 and Scott R. Miller in 1991; sisters, Rita Griffin and Martha Dye; brother, Raymond Ritzert.

Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann L. & Brian Huffaker of Troy, OH; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. "Bob" & Sue Miller, Jr. of Auburn Hills, MI and Mark O. Miller of Carmel, IN; brother, John Ritzert of Centerville, OH; Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Eaton Church of the Visitation, 407 E. Main St., Eaton, OH with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and 9:30 to 10:30 am on Tuesday at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday.
