Marjorie Jean Sewert

Marjorie J. Sewert, age 99, of Lewisburg, Ohio died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at her residence. Born on October 3, 1924 in Lewisburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Dessie C. (Schlientz) Cahill.

Mrs. Sewert was a 1942 Lewisburg-Union High School graduate and served as Lewisburg High School Secretary and Clerk/Treasurer of the Board of Education. She had worked for Winters Bank in Dayton for many years, retiring from the Phillipsburg branch of Chase Bank. She was active with the PTA and a member of the First United Church of Christ in Lewisburg and was involved with the Woman’s Guild, Logo cooking staff and Young at Heart and was a past member of Delta Theta Tau.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband: Billy J. “Bill” Sewert in 2003; Siblings: Richard S. Cahill in 1996, Betty V. Suit in 2011, Robert F. Cahill in 1963 and James W. Cahill in 1928.

Survived by Sons and Daughters-In-Law: B.J. & Jackie Sewert and Jeff & Del Sewert; Grandchildren: Kyle (Jessica) Sewert, Brandon Akers and Nathaniel (Seng) Akers; Great Grandchildren: Blake and Chase Sewert, and Sophie Akers. Nieces and Nephews. Her Caregiver: Tina Ashman.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. The interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. The Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
