Marjorie M. Gettinger

MARJORIE M. GETTINGER, 90, of Lewisburg, OH, died Friday, May 16, 2014 at Brookhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brookville, OH. She was born on March 7, 1924 in Presque Isle, ME, daughter of the late Alton and Eunice (Mooers) Dyer. Marjorie was a graduate of the University of Maine and received her training as a registered nurse at Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. Marjorie retired from Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton where she was a registered nurse for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority both of Lewisburg.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Marzulli in 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert L. Gettinger; daughter and son-in-law, Tana & Steve Eikenbery of Centerville, OH; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald & Barbara Gettinger of Lynchburg, VA, Brent & Cyndy Gettinger of Tucson, AZ and Craig & Karen Gettinger of Ackworth, GA; sisters, Dorothy Shaw of Presque Isle, ME and Arlene Weeks of N. Conway, NH; brother, Ralph Dyer of Searcy, AK; grandchildren, Amy & Bret Eikenbery; Blake & Zachary Gettinger; Sam & Abby Gettinger and Robby & Anne Gettinger; five great grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Brent L. Cavendish officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH.
