Marjorie E. Eikenbery

MARJORIE E. EIKENBERY, age 93, of Brookville, Ohio and formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on July 18, 1914 in Preble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl & Merle (Davis) Leas. She was a 1933 graduate of Monroe High School and from 1966 to 1986 she was a secretary for Tri County North Schools in Lewisburg. She was a member and former secretary for the Lewisburg United Methodist Church and was active along with her husband in their work for the Lewisburg Leader. Member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Lewisburg, In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. “Dutch” Eikenbery in 1992; sisters, Helen & Jeanette Leas in 1920 and Irene Bilger in 1992; brother, Fred A. Leas in 1994.

She is survived by her sons, Terry L. Eikenbery of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tod A. Eikenbery of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Steven K. Eikenbery of Centerville, Ohio and Kris J. Eikenbery of Bowling Green, Ohio; niece, Linda Leas of Dayton, Ohio and very special friend, Janie Norris of Lewisburg; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, 3147 U.S. Rt. 40 East, Lewisburg, with Rev. Michael Pratt, Rev. David Justis and Pastor Ron Gonia officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Homes, 411 North Commerce St., Lewisburg.
