Marilyn May Smith

Marilyn May Smith, age 81 of New Paris, Ohio died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on December 26, 1930 in Richmond, IN, daughter of the late Leland "Fay" & Marjorie Nelson-Cox. She was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School and had attended Baxter Elementary and Dennis Jr. High Schools. She retired from Veaches in Richmond, IN after many years of service. She also previously managed the Golden Rule Clothing Store in the Richmond Square Mall. Member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris, OH. Preceded in death by husbands, Robert Keller in 1963 and Lowell "Pete" Smith in 2003.

Survived by children, Robert (Nancy) Keller of Oxford, OH, Robin (Philip) Keller-Morgan, Lori Keller-Pope and Amy Smith-Johnson all of New Paris, OH and Scott Smith of Louisville, KY; two brothers, "Bud" (Billie) Cox and Tom (Nancy) Cox both of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Bobby (Amber) Keller, Brooke (Jon) Morgan-Schmitz, Philip Morgan, Josh Pope & Brittany Fuchs, Ashley Pope and Kara Johnson; great grandchildren, Hannah and Jakob Keller, Taylor Pope and Brennan Schmitz; friends, Freddie and Megan Thrasher; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main St., New Paris, OH. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 301 E.
