Marie Agnes Watkins

Marie Agnes Watkins, age 92, gently went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2015. She was a long-time a resident of Preble County and Camden, Ohio. She was born on July 12, 1922 in Cincinnati Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Watkins, who died on February 6, 1974, and her parents, William Joseph Peter Eger in 1941 and Erma Caroline (Husman) Eger in 1977. Marie lost her brothers William Arthur Eger in 1999 and Donald Louis Eger in 1988, and her sister, Shirley Helene Bosse in 2011.

Marie lived a life dedicated to Christ and was an inspiration to her family. She is at peace with the Lord she loved so much and served so well. She felt her calling in life was to be a servant of God and a prayer warrior. She was a past member of Living Faith Assembly of God Church in Oxford Ohio. She served Him by selflessly volunteering for many good works in her lifetime. While into her 80's she continued to volunteer at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Eaton. She helped many people in her lifetime. We love our mother very much.

Marie will be deeply missed by her four sons and one daughter: Michael Robert (Teddi), of Eaton; William Dustin (Geni) of Camden; Dale Eger (Kim) of Batavia, Mark Anderson (Pam) of Wadsworth; LeeAnn (Roby) Compton of Carlisle. She leaves nine grandchildren: William Raymond (Tammy) and Hellena Marie Smith of Eaton; Dustin Andrew of Edgewood, KY; Lance Eric (Leeanne) of Grove City; Bradley Dale of Cincinnati; Brooke Allison (Tim Howard) of New York City; Adam Charles (Robin) of Washington DC, Ryan Daniel Compton (Tiffany) of Monroe; and Emily Ann Compton (Daniel) Wilhelm of Bellbrook. She also leaves nine great grandchildren: Michael James Watkins, Willow Rhea Rumley, Skyler Marie, Chloe Marie, Cordelia Marie, Gretchen Lee and Reagan Lee Watkins, and Jenna Marie and Ryder Douglas Compton.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Nein Barnes Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St., Camden, OH with Pastor David Bauman officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, OH. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the funeral on Saturday at the funeral home in Camden.
