Marian M. Mitchell, age 89, of Eaton, Ohio died Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on July 21, 1920 in Richmond, IN she was the daughter of the late Richard B. & Mary (Betz) Morrow. Marian was a 1937 Morton High School – Richmond, IN graduate. She attended Earlham College and in 1942 graduated from The Ohio State University – College of Business Administration. During World War II she served with the American Red Cross in England. She taught briefly at Richmond, IN High School and later substituting at Eaton High School and was the Executive director of the Richmond, IN Girl Scouts for several years. Member of The First Presbyterian Church in Eaton; Charter member of the Preble County Historical Society; Preble County District Library Board and Eaton Current Events Club for over fifty years. Preceded in death by sister: Mary Jane Gibson.
Survived by Husband of 62 years: James W. Mitchell of Eaton, OH; Sons & Daughters-In-Law: James W. & Shirley Mitchell, Jr. and Dr. Richard & Cindy Mitchell both of Eaton, OH and John & Joanna Mitchell of London, OH; Sister: Martha Logan of Lubbock, TX; Five Grandchildren: Laura (Doug) Atkins, Mark Mitchell, Doug Mitchell, Amy Mitchell and Rob Mitchell & 4 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at The First Presbyterian Church – 123 West Decatur Street – Eaton, OH with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM at the church.
