MARGARET M. NUGENT, age 100, of New Paris, OH, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Rose Gate Village in Richmond, IN. She was born on November 12, 1908 in Bellefontaine, OH, daughter of the late John Elmer and Cordellia (Denny) McClure. She had worked for J. C. Penney and the College Gift Shop both in Columbus, OH. Member of the Railroad Auxiliary # 3, helped serve meals during WWII from local canteens, helped make bandages to send over seas during the war, member, Robert Morris Chapter #372 Order of the Eastern Star at Columbus, OH, she had lived in the Preble County Ohio area for the past 20 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nugent; son, John Corwin; grandsons Mike & Sean Corwin; brothers & sisters, Harold McClure, Irene Boyer, Lucille Kauffman, James McClure, Ethel Westerkamp, William McClure, Alma McClure and Charles McClure.
She is survived by stepdaughters, Ruth Ingles of Dayton, OH and Dorothy Kissinger of Kentland, IN. Grandsons, John "Butch" Corwin and Jon Corwin. Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH with Rev Vernon Heiny officiating. Interment will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Garden near Boston, IN. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
