Lucille Bryant, age 64, of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana after an extended illness. Born on September 3, 1940 in Lamero, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Lauda (Bullock) DuShane. Lucille was a Medical Assistant at Dr. Burkhart’s Office in Richmond, Indiana and she had been employed at National Trail High School Cafeteria for 6 years. Member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary of New Paris, Ohio and the Gettysburg Rod & Gun Club. Lucille was an avid Trap Shooter winning several competitions. She also enjoyed the outdoors through her gardening and feeding of the birds. Preceded in death by Husband: Jerry W. Bryant in 1986.
Survived by Son: Lee Bryant of Alpahretta, Georgia; Daughters: Sherry Thompson of Amherst, New Hampshire and Teresa Bryant of New Paris, Ohio; Brother: David DuShane of Richmond, Indiana; Sister: Jean Purvis of Richmond, Indiana. 3 Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; Special Companion: John W. Gibbs of New Paris, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. (Ohio Time) on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Bill Jackson officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery - New Paris, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. (Ohio Time) at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Transplant Center - Methodist Health Foundation - P.O. Box 1367 - Indianapolis, IN 46206.
