Louise Myers. Born Margaret Louise Roberts on July 10, 1933 at home in Norfleet, Kentucky. The third born out of eight children to Ostle and Mary Roberts.
Louise attended elementary school in Norfleet until the age of 9 when the family moved to Dayton so her father could find factory work. As a child Louise attended the Burnetta Baptist Church in Nancy, Kentucky. In Dayton, she graduated from Kiser High School in 1951, then worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for a year before going to Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio. Louise joined the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education. While attending Bowling Green she met her future husband Gil Myers. Gil and Louise were married November 26, 1956. Louise and Gil had two children, Jon Gilbert Myers and Judy Lynn Myers. Louise was active in the school PTA and was a Girl Scout Brownie leader. She was also a contributing editor writing the Lewisburg community news for the Register Herald Newspaper during the 1970’s. After the death of her husband in 1977, Louise worked as administrative secretary in the department of Psychiatry at Wright State University’s school of medicine. Louise had many hobbies including rock collecting, cooking, dress making, gardening, painting and reading but her biggest enjoyment in life was her family. She loved to host family dinners and is responsible for many family traditions.
Louise was preceded in death by her Father Ostle Roberts, mother Mary Garner Roberts, brothers Wendell Roberts, Bue Roberts, Nick Roberts and baby Joseph Roberts. Sisters Christine Suhre and Polly Mercer and Louise’s husband Gilbert George Myers.
Louise is survived by her son Jon Myers, granddaughters Margaret Myers and Julia Myers. Daughter Judy Winfield and son-in-law Randy Winfield, grandsons Franklin Markley, Nolan Winfield and Mitchell Winfield. And one sister, Geyneal Palmer and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At 12:54 am July 31, 2018, surrounded by family at home, Louise peacefully left this Earth to once again be with the love of her life, Gil Myers.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
