Linda Mae Brown, 85, of Tallassee, Tennessee, formerly New Paris, Ohio, died Friday, January 27, 2023 in Niceville, Florida. Born on January 27, 1938 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Vernon C. & Ola Irene (Cox) Mullins.
Linda worked for Cigna Insurance for thirty years. She retired as an Accounting Manager in 1993. Linda enjoyed her career and she excelled during her years at Cigna.
Her main priority in life was family. Linda and her husband loved spending time with parents, siblings and their families when her children were young. Weekends and holidays were often spent at campgrounds, Linda's parent's farm outside New Paris and later, at her parent's retirement home in Kentucky with her entire extended family. She also spent time with her in-laws and visited them often.
As her children grew up, the bond with her siblings remained strong and the activities changed to trips and concerts. Linda loved going to Las Vegas with her siblings and regular trips to Las Vegas became the norm. She was a master slot machine player, and she enjoyed the bright lights, exciting shows and great food. She and her husband, Marvin, also started taking cruises with big groups of family members. Linda loved the Captain's dinners on cruises, sightseeing, shopping and drinking in Cozumel. Trips to New Orleans were also added to the list after her in-laws relocated there.
Linda was an incredible grandmother and enjoyed special relationships with both of her grandchildren, Saundra Schreifels and Alex Schmitt.
Linda was a music lover throughout her entire life - Elvis and Willie Nelson were a few of her favorites. She was also an animal lover and enjoyed many years with her beloved dog.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband: Marvin L. Brown in 2019; Brother: Denver C. Mullins; Sister: Sharon Kay Robinson.
Survived by Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Julie & Bill Byrd and Jackie & Gary Schmitt; Sister: Wathalene Rasner; Grandchildren: Saundra (Steve) Schreifels and Alex Schmitt; Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rodney Robinson officiating. Interment in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
