Linda Kay (Schultz) Hardin, 72, of New Paris, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at her home in New Paris, Ohio. Born on September 7, 1950 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur H. “Bud” and Doris L. (King) Schultz.
Linda was a 1968 Jefferson Township High School graduate and earned her associate degree from the Dayton School of Practical Nursing. She had worked for NATCO in Richmond, Indiana for 14 years, and was a 17-year employee for Reid Health. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church, Fountain City, Indiana where she was a faithful member for many years. Linda was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid crafter, loved scrapbooking and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved cat Sweet Pea, former husband: Gayle E. Settles and stepdaughter: Pamela Settles.
Survived by her Children: Lee (Suzanne) Settles, Hartsville, Tennessee, and Karen (Nathan) Shaffer, Clayton, Michigan; Step Daughters: Sandy Thomason and Cindy Settles; Siblings: Sisters: Sherrie (Millard) Chandler, New Paris, Ohio, and Bettie (Jerry) Erickson, Beaumont, California; Brother: Richard (Amy) Schultz, New Paris, Ohio; Grandchildren: Kaylee Settles, Jazmine Taylor and Gavin Shaffer; Step Granddaughters: Regan Scott, and CaSandra (Tyler) Hamilton; Great Grandchildren: Ava Vetetoe, A’Niyha Taylor and J’Metrius Taylor; Nieces and Nephews: Kevin (Brooke) Chandler, Sherrie Jo Chandler, Christy Cayce, Steven Simpson, and Amanda Johnson.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Timothy Branson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
