Linda Kay Metzger Ebbing died suddenly November 5 after a severe stroke. She was 64. Linda was born in 1951 in Batesville, IN to Don and Margie (Murphy) Metzger. She lived in Hamilton, graduating from Taft High School in 1969.
Linda married Roy Ebbing in 1972, and they moved to their Camden, OH home. She was an at-home mom until her two children were older, eventually becoming a reporter for the Preble County News. She worked for the Oxford Press and then the Hamilton-Journal News as an education reporter until her retirement in 2009.
Linda was known for her infectious laugh and smile. She overflowed with compassion, and had a special empathy for the cats, raccoons and other wild life that found sanctuary in her yard. She enjoyed her Bible study group at church and her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Roy; her children Chris Ebbing of Somerville, and Cathi (Jon) Sander of Durham, NC; and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Audrey, and Annika. She also leaves behind a special sister Kathy (Gordy) Merrill; nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Bobby.
Visitation will be Monday November 9 from 4-7 pm. Funeral service will be held Tuesday November 10 at 11 am, both at First Southern Baptist Church, Camden. Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, Camden, OH. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barnesfuneralhome.com
