Lester Kyle Smith passed away December 3, 2024 at Van Crest in Eaton, Ohio. He was born January 6, 1925 in Friendsville, Tennessee to Isaac Grant Smith and Jenny Hazel Hackney Smith. He was a 1942 graduate of Centerville, Indiana High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1945 -1946. In 1956 he married Mary Isabelle Ross Klein. He was a farmer in the Centerville area until the early 1960s. They moved to Hueston Woods State Park in Ohio, where he worked as a park ranger until retiring in 1985 and then moved to New Paris, Ohio. Kyle will be remembered as a man of high integrity, good humor, intelligence, and kindness. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2012, his parents and brothers Richard Leon Smith and Joseph Harold Smith. 

He is survived by step-son William Klein (Sandra) of Holiday, Florida, step-daughter Rebecca Klein McCreary (Paul) of Green Valley, Arizona and nephew Michael Smith (Gwen) of Colorado. Also step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

Burial will be at Concord Cemetery Eaton, Ohio, with no service.
