Lena R. Lipscomb

Lena R. Lipscomb, 99 of Eaton, OH passed away peacefully Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Vancrest in Eaton, OH. Born on August 30, 1916 in Waynesburg, KY she was the daughter of the late William Dean David & Bertie Ann (Padgett) Hayes. She had worked at Inland in Dayton, OH during the war, ran the Dairy Bar, co-owner and manager of Charlie's Lunch in the late 50's and early 60's, and worker for her sister Mattie, at the Sandwich Shop (formerly Charlie's Lunch). Member of First Baptist Church in Eaton, OH where she taught Sunday School for many years and bought Bibles for many kids who didn't have one.

Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Charles E. Lipscomb in 2006; son: William D. Cole in 1991; daughter: Betty C. Harrison in 2000; granddaughter: Kathy J. Harrison in 1978; great grandson: Aaron Gadd in 2000; brothers: Wallace, James, Harlis and Hendricks Hayes; sisters: Mattie Lin Brower and Mary E. Padgett.

Survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Kenneth R & Ruby B. Lipscomb of Eaton, OH; daughter & son-in-law: Janice M. & Robert E. Watt of West Alexandria, OH; daughter-in-law: Anna Cole of Sidney, OH; sisters-in-law: Norma Hayes Gells and Leora Hayes. Eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 1320 North Maple Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Fred Hill, Rev. Lowell T. Spencer and Rev. Andrew Stensaas officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
