Lela Maxine Phipps Lawson

Lela Maxine Phipps Lawson, age 85 of formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Heartland of Eaton. Born on March 9, 1927 in Dante, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Claude K. & Gladys (Amburgey) Carter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Umatilla, Florida.

Preceded in death by 1st Husband: Joseph Ray Phipps in 1976; 2nd Husband: Donald R. Lawson in 2006; Daughter: Deanna Burnett; Sister: Peggy Griffith; Brother: Carlyle Carter.

Survivors include Children: Peggy & Gary Brewer of Cincinnati, OH; David A. & Ellen Phipps of Lewisburg, OH; Ed & Barb Phipps of Fairhope, Alabama; Stephen Phipps of Dayton, OH; Rob & Kay Lawson of Florida; George & Karen Lawson of Dayton, OH; Rick & Lori Lawson of Brookville, OH and Bonnie Repyneck of Dayton, OH; Brother: Bill (Betty) Carter of Virginia; Sister-In-Law: June Conaster of KY; Grandchildren: David J. Phipps, Jason Brewer, Jeff Brewer, Alex Phipps, Ryan Phipps, Samantha (D.J.) Shepherd, Jeff (Natasha) Lawson, Michael Repyneck and Rich (Jennifer) Lawson; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, March 4, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. Jerry Carter officiating. Interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
