LEE VANCE, JR., 79, of Camden, Ohio died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at his residence. He was born on May 5, 1929 in Shelbyville, Indiana, son of the late Lee & Lola Mae (Bell) Vance, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran from 1946 to 1949 and a farmer all his life. He was the co-owner and operator of Vance Custom Farm Service. He was retired from WR Grace Fertilizer and Chemical Company in Camden, Ohio and for the past three years mowed for the Preble County Engineers. He worked with the Tipton, Indiana Police Department for nearly two years and the Camden Fire Department for fifteen years. He served three terms with the Camden Village Council and was active with the Preble County Pork Festival where he served two terms as President. Member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Camden. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Vance and a sister, Gretchen Vance.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Parr) Vance; daughter, Teresa A. Mason of Eaton, Ohio; sons and daughter-in-law, Donald A. Vance of Camden, Michael A. and Amy Vance of Liberty, Indiana and Paul A. Vance of Camden; brothers, Earl Vance of Rochester, Indiana, Jim Vance of Eaton, and Bob Vance of Torrington, Connecticut; sisters, Patricia Suggs of Kokomo, Indiana and Sharon Kelley of Rochester, Indiana; seven grandchildren, one uncle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7721 North Main St., Camden, Ohio with Father Frances officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main St., Camden, Ohio. A Rosary will be held at 8:00 p.m. followed by Military honors presented by the Preble County Honor Guard,
