KURT DUANE MUNCY, 42 of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was born on November 10, 1970 in Dayton, Ohio. Kurt was a 1989 graduate of Eaton High School and attended the Police Academy. Kurt was a former police officer with the West Alexandria Police Department; was a paramedic and police officer for the Eaton Police Department and was a Deputy Sheriff with the Preble County Sheriff's Department. Kurt became a contractor for Dyncorp International in Falls Church, Virginia and was serving in Kabul with the Afghan National Police Development Team. A member of Masonic Lodge #82 F & A.M. in Eaton, OH, Patriot Guard and served as a loan closer in Dayton.
Survived by his Fiancée: Jackie Christopher; Parents: Willard "Buddy" & Barbara Carol (McCarty) Muncy; Maternal Grandmother: Erma McCarty; Brother: Jeffrey Scott (Julie) Muncy; Uncles and Aunts: William (Barbara) Muncy, Herman (Patricia) Muncy, Sam (Nancy) Muncy, Coleen (Everett) Mason, Mary Elleen (James) Oliver, Steve (Charlene) McCarty, Sharon (Ken) Lawless and Patricia Waddell. Step Children: Tiffany Johnson and Katie (Nick) Duskey; 4 Step Grandchildren. Special Nieces: Lauren & Jenna Muncy. Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH 45320 with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton with Police Honors. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the church with Police Honors followed by Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. The family will also receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at the church.
The funeral procession will start at the church to St. Rt. 732, Barron to Main to Maple to Barron to Washington Jackson Rd to Preble Drive to Lexington Rd to Barron to Main to Mound Hill Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police - Floyd E. Spitler Lodge #158, (Cops and Kids Shopping), P.O. Box 602, Eaton, Ohio 45320.
