Kirk L Shannon

Kirk L. Shannon, age 79, of Lewisburg, Ohio and formerly of Brookville, Ohio, fell asleep awaiting Jesus’ return May 30^th at his home.  Born on October 1, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late, Frank P. & Harriet Louise (Bowman) Shannon.

Kirk attended Brookville schools. Retired from GM with 35 years of service.  He was a booster member of the Brookville V.F.W.

His greatest passion in life was baseball.  He loved the game and he was pretty good at it himself.  His favorite team was the Cincinnati Reds and he was a Cincinnati Bengals Fan.  Anyone who remembers the dances at Brookville Park know Kirk was quite the showman when it came to dancing.

Preceded by his brothers, Rex Shannon and Frank Shannon, Jr.; sister, Ruth Etter.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy Shannon of Lewisburg, Ohio; children, Mike Shannon; Phil (Lisa) Maciejewski all of Dayton, Ohio; stepdaughter, Eva Marie (Jorge Luis) Santiago of New York City; brother, Denny Shannon of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Luke, Sylvia and Sidney; several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Services held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Lewisburg First United Church of Christ, 400 N. Main Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor David O. Justis officiating.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit, P.O. Box 697, Lewisburg, Ohio 45338. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Lewisburg, OH.
