Kent A. Rubright

Kent Arthur Rubright, 58, of Eaton, Ohio died on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on July 8, 1952 in Akron, Ohio he was the son of Roy & Lois (Pennington) Rubright. Kent was a 1970 graduate of Perrysburg Ohio High School. He graduated from Purdue University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Johns Manville Corporation for 25 years in Waterville, Ohio, Denver, Colorado and Richmond, Indiana in the areas of research and development and plant engineering. He was awarded two patents in the area of fiberglass manufacturing. Kent was a member of The Johns Manville Quarter Century Club. He later worked for Oberle & Associates before leaving to help found the Ironworking Contractors Allied Partnership. He most recently worked for Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville, Indiana as Manager of Process Development.
He served as a founding member and President of the Preble County DARE organization, member and President of The National Trail School Board and founding member and President of the Board of Directors of The Ohio Gateway Development Council, National Trail Booster Club, founding member and Chairman of the National Trail School Foundation, Fellowship Lodge Masonic Lodge 106, Eastern Star 310 both of New Paris, OH and attended Campbellstown United Church of Christ serving as a board member and Sunday School Teacher.
Survived by wife of 29 years: Sarah Ann (Martin) Rubright; Children: Melissa Nicole Rubright-Irvin (Thomas) of Eaton, OH; Hilary Ann Brockman (Joe) of Richmond, IN; Kelsey Ann Rubright of Eaton, OH; stepson: Chad Michael Porfidio; Brother: Kirk M. (Yvonne) Rubright of Tampa, Florida; Mother: Lois Ann Rubright of Waterville, OH; Grandchildren: Jeffrey Jack-Thomas Irvin, Alexandra Nicole Irvin, Megan Nicole Irvin; nephews Brian and Derek Rubright.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home – 109 West Main Street – New Paris, OH. with Rev. Randall Harvey and Rev. James Sizelove officiating. Interment will be in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
