KAY (HUNDLEY) RAPS, age 86, of Fairfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2011. She was a long time resident of Camden, Ohio. Kay was born on August 8, 1924 in McKee, Jackson County, Kentucky. Kay forged a good home and prosperous life with her husband of 58 years, Charlie Raps. Kay was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a past member of Living Faith Assembly of God. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Raps, who died on March 28, 2004, and her parents, Lloyd Hundley in 1980 and Mattie J. Baker in 1994. Kay lost her brothers, John Bob Hundley in 2002, Everett Hundley in 2003, and Edward Hundley in 2010. She lost her sisters, Marie Johnston in 2005 and Betty A. Campbell in 2010.
Kay will be deeply missed by her brother, Jack Hundley of North Carolina; her son: Steven Edward (Roberta) Raps of Gratis; and daughters: Pamela Kay (Mark) Watkins of Wadsworth, Ohio and Cathy Lee Couch of Fairfield. She leaves six grandchildren: Bradley Tod (Tara) Raps of Loveland; Douglas Steven (Jill) Raps of Aviano AFB, Italy; Brooke Allison Watkins of New York City; Adam Charles Watkins of Washington, D.C., Chad Michael Couch and Kayla Marie Couch of Fairfield. She also leaves two great grandchildren: Alex and Anna Proano-Raps.
Family and Friends may attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio with Rev. Dave Bauman officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Fairfield Pavilion for providing our mother with wonderful care and a quality life since her stroke in 2003.
