Kathleen Hollon, age 59, of West Elkton, Preble County, OH passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, OH. Born on April 3, 1949 in Middletown, OH she was a 1967 graduate of Preble Shawnee School. Kathleen began working for Ohio Bell, later known as A.T.&T. and Lucent Technologies out of Middletown shortly after graduation as an operator. She retired after 32 years of service as an international technology instructor. She was a lifelong member of the West Elkton United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader and a lay minister. She will be best remembered for her warm heart and gentle soul as a person with an endless capacity for giving. She was a devoted family member and a dependable friend who will always be missed by those who knew her. Preceded in death by her father: Hobert E. Hollon in 1998.
She is survived by her mother: Martha Lois (Francis) Hollon of West Elkton, OH; Brothers: David Hollon of Middletown, OH and James Lawson of Menifee Co, KY; Sisters & Brothers-In-Law: Nancy & James Conniff, III of Trenton, OH and Donna & Michael Moiarity of New York City, NY; Nephews: James Norton Conniff, IV; Kyle David Conniff; Neices: Sarah Lynn Hollon and Teagan Rose Moiarity.
Funeral service will be held on 12:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the West Elkton United Methodist Church - 120 South Main Street - West Elkton, OH with Rev. Sandy Apgar officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 to 12 prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to West Elkton United Methodist Church - P.O. Box 88 - West Elkton, OH 45070. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Thomson and the staff at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, as well as our eternal gratitude to Pastor Sandra Apgar and our dear life long friends Helen and Dan Fultz.
