Katherine R. Rader

Katherine R. Rader, age 85 of Eaton, Dixon Township, Ohio died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Eaton. Katherine was born on March 21, 1938, in Eaton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Cecil Ray & F. Katherine (Freitag) Hewitt. She was a 1957 Eaton High School graduate and a member of Concord Church active in the church Ladies Organizations and served as a Deaconess for several years and recently received the title of Deaconess Emeritus. Past member of the Preble County Election Board, active at the Preble County Fair, collector of Indian Artifacts, Folk Painter, enjoyed selling her art at the Preble County Pork Festival, active 4 H member and Advisor who found great joy keeping a herd of goats.

 Preceded in death by Daughter: Arnetta K. Heitzman in 2004, Son: Jack S. “Jackie” Rader in 2004 and Grandson: Donald R. Heitzman in 2017; Sisters: Bertha Louise Hewitt in 1923, Barbara Lawing in 2003, Doris J. Hapner in 2014, Linda Simmons in 2016 and Hanna Mary Grilliot in 1990; Brothers: Arthur Franklin Hewitt in 1918 and Franklin Ray Hewitt in 1929.

Survived by Husband of 66 years Jack R. Rader; Children: Delora & Allan Wysong, Rozan & Bob Buchholz, Doris & Matthew Kimbler, Tonda & Jeff Wolfe and William Heitzman, Sr. 15 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren and beloved dog Elbow. Several Nieces and Nephews who called her Aunt Rosie.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday February 11, 2024, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday February 12, 2024, at Concord Church, 2225 Concord Fairhaven Road, Eaton, Ohio. Interment will be held in Concord Cemetery, Dixon Township, Eaton, Ohio.
