Judith Marie Blackmon

Judith Marie (Camann) Blackmon age 75 of Eaton, (Lakengren), Ohio passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at her residence. Born on August 18, 1949, in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Earl J. & Marie E. (Moore) Camann. Judith graduated in 1967 from LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, N.Y. In 1971 she received her B.S. in Home Economics from State University of New York at Plattsburgh and in 1978 her M.A. Education at Buffalo State College. She taught Home Economics at Niagara Wheatfield High School in Sanborn, N.Y. for 10 years and worked at Browning Manufacturing in Eaton, OH. 

 Judith was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Englewood, Ohio and formerly active in Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Teachers. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She crocheted many hats, booties and blankets for babies, preemies, older children, homeless adults, and crocheted lap blankets for nursing home residents. Her Amateur Radio Licensee was KC8BOG. 

 Preceded in death by brother: Gary C. Camann in 1950

 Survived by her husband of 52 years: Jeffry M. Blackman; children: Tonya M. Blackmon of Richmond, IN and John D. & Crystal Blackmon of Richmond, IN. Grandchildren: Adley Cravens, Desmond Miller, Scott Burgess all of Richmond, IN. Siblings: Beth & Paul VanHorn of Webster, N.Y; and Terry Earl & Madelyn Camann of Niagara Falls, N.Y. Nephews: Terry Camann Jr. and Christopher Camann 

 The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2024, at Barnes Funeral Home 220 East Main Street – Eaton, Ohio. A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Gettinger officiating.

 The interment will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.
