Joseph Richardson

JOSEPH "JOE" RICHARDSON, age 60, of New Paris, Ohio died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Oxford, Ohio. Born on August 13, 1949 in College Corner, Ohio, he was the son of the late Rhoades & Esta M. "Gram" (Jackson) Richardson. Joe graduated in 1967 from Eaton High School. He worked for Barnetts Trucking as a truck driver for several years and at Neaton Auto Products for 12 years.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Joe was a gunner on a loach helicopter in Vietnam and during that time he was awarded the Air Medal six times and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Joe is preceded by his son, Joseph Cory Richardson in 1981; brother, Rhoades "Red" Richardson, Jr. in 1981; sister-in-law, Marilyn J. Richardson in 2001; sister, Esta Lu "Oogie" Mutter in 1991.

Joe is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Jason M. & Kelly Richardson of Great Falls, Montana; brother & sister-in-law, Arthur & Kathy Richardson of Camden, Ohio; sisters, Treva Sparks of Michigan and Lois Jean Whitely of Richmond, Indiana; granddaughters, Heather Rain Richardson and Lillyann "Oogie" Richardson; friend Dave Stevens of Eaton, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320. Interment will be held in Fairhaven Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the funeral home in Eaton.
