Joseph Lawrence “Larry” Cherry, Jr., age 75, formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio died on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Troy Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Troy, Ohio. Born on October 4, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Joseph Lawrence & Mary Ann (Parton) Cherry, Sr.

Larry retired after many years of working with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and had retired as a Truck Driver with over 10 million miles across the USA. He was a Stivers High School graduate. Member of 4-H. He enjoyed Golfing & Bowling and had won many trophies in each sport.

Larry proudly served in the United States Marines Corps during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1975.

Preceded by wife, Sharon Lea (Todd) Cherry in 2008; brothers, Robert A. Cherry in 2017, Timothy James Cherry in 2013, Thomas Edward Cherry in 1970 and Dennis Michael Cherry in 2016; sister, Patricia Ann Perdue in 2024.

Survived by his children, Frederick “Fred” & Lindsey Cherry, Brian Thomas Cherry,

Kimberly Anne & Duane Collins, and Jessica & Charles “Chuck” Runner; 14 grandchildren, Evan Cherry, Ethan Cherry, Jullian Ostendorf, Cayden Ostendorf, Erykah Barnes, Wyatte Barnes, Joenah Warner, Anakin Collins, Rowan Collins, Christina Poeppelman, Samatha Shunk, Haley Runner, Katie Runner, Davion Runner; 2 great grandchildren, Lillian and Dawson; brothers & sisters-in-law, Albert C. & Barbara Cherry, Anthony P. & Debbie Cherry, Michael P. Cherry; sister & brothers-in-law, Jessica A. & Jeff Creech; brother-in-law, Glenn A. Perdue; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Cherry, Michelle Cherry, and Angel Cherry; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M, on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor David Justis officiating.
