Joseph A. Brown

Joseph A. Brown, age 65 of Eaton, OH passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Heartland of Eaton where he was receiving care after having been hit by a train in December 2011. Joe was born on April 1, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio. He was a 1966 Eaton High School magna cum laude graduate. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where, as a freshman, he earned the highest grades in his dormitory. An unusually gifted student, Joe was awarded a Congressional appointment to the U. S. Air Force Academy, which, due to poor eyesight, he was unable to fulfill. Drafted into the U. S. Army, he served as a data processing specialist in Atlanta, Ga. and Heidelberg, Germany. Later, while living in Houston, Texas, Joe became a systems analyst for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. His fascination with language motivated him to return to Europe numerous times for lengthy study in German, French, and Spanish.

Preceded in death by his father: Joe W. Brown in 2012.

Survived by Mother: Barbara F. Brown formerly of Eaton and currently the past 6 years of Cleveland, OH; Brother: Craig Brown (Laurel McLaren) of Cincinnati, OH; Sister: Melanie (David) McCrone of Cleveland, OH; Nephew: Jordan McCrone (Angela Dobson); Nieces: Morgan (John) Heberle; Tara McCrone and Courtney McCrone all of Cleveland, Oh.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Eaton, OH.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Dayton National Cemetery – Dayton, Ohio with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating.
