John V. “Jack” Barnhart age 74 of Eaton, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his residence. Jack was born on October 10, 1948, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of the late John W. & Sarah L. (Kesling) Barnhart. He was a 1966 Eaton High School graduate and attended Central Academy of Art in Cincinnati. He retired from Grafcor of Richmond, Indiana. Jack was known for his quick wit and love of history, especially the Civil War time period. He had a wide range of interests and a knack for remembering facts. He was everyone’s “phone a friend” for trivia. His interests led him to many adventures. One of his favorites was being in several documentaries for the history channel, National Park films and historical movies.
Unfortunately, Jack’s time ended after an eight-year battle with cancer. He will be missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Janene “Ketron” Barnhart and his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Roth and Jessica and Josh Wing. Jack enjoyed a very close and special relationship with his three grandsons Jaxon and Charlie Roth and Bronson Wing. Jack will be missed by his sister Linda Line, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched will keep his memory in their hearts.
He will be joining those who have gone before him, his parents, John and Louise Barnhart, sister Phyllis Stephenson, and many other family members.
A celebration of life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice 324 Wilmington Drive Dayton, Ohio 45420 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
