John Ray Sheppard, Jr.

John Ray Sheppard, Jr., age 59, of Eaton, Ohio went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Born on August 12, 1950 in Yokohama, Japan, he was the son of the late John Ray & Dorotha Sue (Gibbs) Sheppard, Sr. John proudly served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. Member of the American Legion Post 215 in Eaton, Ohio. Member of the Disabled American Veterans. Member of the First Baptist Church of Eaton, Ohio. John was very Patriotic and was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Linda M. (Oliver) Sheppard of Eaton, Ohio; son, Rick Sheppard of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Taunya Bedell of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jay, Joshua and Chandler Bedell, Anthony, Michael, Michayla Boyd; brother, Michael Sheppard of Brentwood, Tennessee; close family members, Sherman and Sheryl Oliver of Eldorado, Ohio, David Oliver of Camden, Ohio, Mike & Diane Oliver of West Alexandria, Ohio, Peggy Davis of Tennessee, Keith Oliver, Karen Sims and Jerry & Becky Brookshire all of Eaton, Ohio.

Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Preble Memorial Gardens, 3377 US Rte. 35 E., West Alexandria, Ohio 45381 with Rev. Fred Hill officiating with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.

A Family Gathering will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at First Baptist Church, 1320 N. Maple Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320.
