John M. Garnett, Jr.

JOHN M. GARNETT, Jr., age 81, of Union City, Ohio and formerly of Camden, Ohio, died Friday, February 1, 2008 in Union City, Ohio. Born on September 19, 1926 in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John M. & Edna (Barnhill) Garnett. John had worked for Champion Paper in Hamilton, Ohio and was a member of Grand Aerie FOE # 2790 in Union City, Indiana having served was Past Worthy President and Chaplain at the Van Wert FOE and was a Life Member, member of the Sons of the Legion in Union City, IN and the Darke County Singles. Preceded in death by Wife: Helen (Beiser) Garnett in 1980 and Betty Huffine in 2000; Son: Louis Dale Garnett in 1992. Brothers: Thad and Porter B. Garnett; Sister: Ruth Owens.

Survived by Sons: Ronald (Theresa) Garnett, Lewisburg, OH, Fred (Becky) Garnett, Morning Sun, OH, Charles (Valerie) Garnett, Somerville, OH, John D. "J.D." (Tammy) Garnett, Lewisburg, OH. Daughter: Joyce (Richard) Parker, Camden, OH. Special Friend: Marge Morse, Union City, OH;. Brothers: Carl Garnett, Oxford, OH and Robert Garnett, Hamilton, OH; Sister: Barbara Ann Ramsey, Hamilton, OH; Daughter-in-law: Belinda Bowe, Laurelville, OH. Additional children include: Kathy (Jay) Loomis, Richmond, IN, Doug (Cindi) Morse, Cicero, IN, Patty (John) Ranes, Muncie, IN. 28 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 1:00 p.m. at the Nein-Barnes Funeral Home - 249 North Main Street - Camden, Ohio with Rev. Greg Jackson officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
