John Arthur George

John Arthur “Johnny” George, age 82, of Camden, OH, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Woodland County Manor. Born on September 24, 1935 in Laurel County, KY, he was the son of the late John Ancil & Eula Lee (Chesnut) George. John was a diesel mechanic and co-owner/operator for over 50 years at George Brothers Garage in Camden. He attended Camden High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. A Charter Member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Preble County Special Deputy of over 30 years, Eaton Police Special Deputy, Camden Police Chief, volunteer for the Camden – Somers Twp. Fire Department and Camden Lions Club. Preceded in death by his sister: Shirley Mae Flory in 1995; daughter-in-law: Pamela S. “Pam” (Kaiser) George in 2002. 

Survived by Children: Steven D. George, April C. (Randy) Adams and Mark P. (Kimberly) George; former wife of 28 years: Norma (McKinney) George; Brothers: William “Earl” (Sandra Sue) George, Kenneth R. (Patricia) George, Keith L. (Esther) George, and Leslie Gayle (Vicki) George; Brother-in-law: James G. Flory. Grandchildren: Andrew J. (Bailey) George, Clifford (Stephanie) Michael, Heather Michael and Leslie George; Great Grandchildren: Hailei, Ricky, Santos, Elliana, Landon, Daisy, Brantley and Aniya. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty St., Camden, OH with Dr. Greg F. Jackson officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden with military services by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH and one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
