Joe D. Holloway, Sr

Joe D. Holloway, Sr., age 87, of New Paris, OH, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at his residence. Born on May 9, 1930 in Jasper, Tennessee son of the late, Jerry M. & Lou (Massengale) Holloway. Joe married Alvina on June 3, 1951. They had resided in New Paris since 1951. Joe had retired in 1997 after over 30 years as a truck driver for ABF in Dayton, OH. Member of the Teamsters Retirees Club. Joe proudly served in the US Army. Member of the American Legion, Post 360 in New Paris, OH. Lifetime member of the AMVETS in Eldorado, OH.

Preceded by his wife of 47 years, Alvina (Casteel) Holloway in 1998; brothers, James Holloway and Clifford Holloway; sister, Katherine Dalton.

Survived by daughters, JoAnn (Larry) Johnson, Peggy (Billie) Williams and Trish (Mike) McGriff; son, Joe (Dawnmari) Holloway, Jr.; sister, Nancy (Al) Raffo; brother, Jerre Holloway; grandchildren, Heather Woodall, Holly (Michael) Breen, Kara Holloway, Matthew Snyder, Joe Holloway III, Katlyn Holloway, Kindra Holloway and Morgan McGriff; great grandchildren, Crystal Breen, Daltyn Breen, Dezaray Breen and Kameron Woodall.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, OH with Chaplain Jeremy W. Halstead, MA officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
