Joan S. Zuzolo

Joan S. Zuzolo, 90, of Brookville, OH and formerly of Lewisburg, OH, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Brookhaven Nursing and Care Center in Brookville. She was born on July 22, 1925 in Preble County, OH, daughter of the late Linn M. and Serena Belle (Kessler) Turner. Joan was a 1943 graduate of Monroe Central High School in Eldorado, OH and a graduate of Reid Hospital School of Nursing in Richmond, IN. She was a registered nurse at Reid Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH. She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton, OH and the St. Ann's Sodality; the Preschool Mother's Club of Lewisburg; the Lewisburg P.T.A. and the Trowel and Spade Garden Club of Lewisburg.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert C. Zuzolo in 2008; brothers, J. Freemont Turner, Keith K.Turner, Walter Bruce Turner, John Dudley Turner and Larry Daniel Turner.

Joan is survived by her children, Betsy and Martin Lavelle of Dayton, OH, Amy Obst of Englewood, OH, Phillip and Brenda Zuzolo of Woodbridge, VA, Mark and Julie Zuzolo of Tipp City, OH and Michael and Mary Jane Zuzolo of Atchison, KS; sister, Phoebe and Jack Stayton of Sidney, OH; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Eugene Vonderhaar officiating. Interment will be held in Wheelock Cemetery, St. Rt. 571, Troy, OH at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton.
