Jo Lipps

Jo (Nolan) Lipps, age 69, of New Madison, OH, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Everheart Hospice in Greenville, OH after a long 3 ½ years battle with cancer.  Born on December 30, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Leroy Palmer & Mary Alice (Yoke) Nolan. 

She graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in 1972.  Jo and Doug were together for 50 years and 31 of those years they were married.  She worked at Baxter in Eaton, OH for 25 years, Master Brand in Richmond, IN for 8 years, and Payless in Brookville, OH for 8 years.

Quilting was her passion and her quilts are legendary.  She was an excellent photographer.  She could take the smallest item of interest and make it picture perfect.  She was also a talented crafter.  She loved gardening, canning and all birds and animals, especially cats.  Jo never met a stray cat she didn’t love and was always willing to give it a furever home.  The Lipps family would like to thank Everheart Hospice for all their Love & Care.

Survived by husband, Doug Lipps of New Madison, OH; siblings, Barbara (Brian) Mullins of Brooksville, FL and Phil Nolan of Dallas, Georgia; sister-in-law, Carol Curl of New Madison, OH; nieces & nephews, Tony (Marta) Call, Travis (Deanna) Call, Erik (MaryAnn) Curl, Kathy Pieratt, Crystal Nolan and Kyle Nolan.  

Funeral Service held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH.  Interment will be held at Greenmound Union Cemetery in New Madison, OH.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Shelter of your choice or Everhart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway St., Greenville, OH 45331.
