Jill Martz

JILL MARTZ, 65, of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at her residence. Jill was born on May 6, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Gerald C. & Laura Jane (Fisher) Martz. She was a 1965 graduate of Eaton High School, a 1969 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Dayton. Jill was an English teacher and taught at Valley View Middle School in Germantown, Ohio for many years. A very talented pianist, Jill also loved to cross stitch and loved animals especially dogs. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Jill is survived by her daughter, Michelle Hurst of Virginia; sister & brother-in-law, Pam and Chuck Hester of Eaton; nephews, Tom (Katie) Hester of West Alexandria, Ohio and Rob Hester of Eaton; niece, Emily (Steve) Philips of Fishers, Indiana; great niece, Madeline Philips and her faithful friend, Murphy.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating.
