Jesse P. Matheny

JESSE PAUL MATHENY, 87, of Eaton, OH, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Heartland of Eaton. Born on January 17, 1926 in Adams County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Homer & Ocie (McGowan) Matheny.

Jesse had worked for Frigidaire and GHR Foundry in Dayton and was a W.W. II U.S. Navy Veteran and member of the American Legion.

Preceded in death by his Wife: Edna (Hall) Matheny in 1995; Sons: Phillip E. & David L. Matheny; Brother: Calvin Matheny.

Survived by Daughter & Son-in-law: LaVerne & Raymond Tompkins, Eaton, OH; Brothers: Harry Matheny, Chillicothe, OH, Leo Matheny, Peebles, OH, Ronnie (Shirley) Matheny, Waverly, OH and Ray (Doris) Matheny, Lucasville, OH; Sisters: Audrey Mitchell, Peebles, OH, Pauline (Jerry) Campbell, Phoenix, AZ, Geneva Clements, Louisville, KY and Juanita Fitzgerald, Portsmouth, OH. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH with full military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
