Jeffery Robert Harmon

Jeffery R. Harmon, 57, of Middletown, OH, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Atrium Medical Center, Middletown, OH. He was born September 14, 1960 in Warren, OH, one of six children of Wayne & Lynne (Darr) Harmon. In 1979 he enlisted in the Army, where he was a diesel mechanic.  He continued to serve for 7 ½ years, many in Germany. On June 7, 1980, he married Cheryl A. Davidson.  They lived in Fort Campbell, KY;  West Germany;  Colorado Springs, CO; and Ohio. In 1982, he and his wife Cheryl became the parents of a son, Brandon, and  in 1987, they welcomed a daughter, Vanessa, to their family. After his service in the military, he pursued his passion in truck driving.  He became an owner/operator, and most recently was driving for Brown Transport Inc. of Gratis.  Jeff loved his family, and loved to fish.  He liked nothing more than to prepare a batch of his freshest catch for his family to enjoy.  He was a devoted father, uncle, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all.  Jeffery was a proud member of Bolivar Lodge #82 in Eaton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Becky Ebersole. 

Survivors include his 2 children, Brandon Harmon of North Port, FL, and his daughter Vanessa (Branden) Dobbs of New Castle, IN.; 4 siblings: Cheryl (Kent) West, Eldorado; Renee (Rodger) Mart of Brookville, OH; Roberta (Keith) Mackey of Panama City, FL;  Jimmy (Lisa) Harmon of Eldorado;  4 grandchildren: Gabriel Dobbs, Elijah Dobbs, Isaiah Dobbs, & Katlin Dobbs;  many nieces & nephews. 

The Funeral Service for Jeffery R. Harmon will be at 11:00AM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH with Pastor Paul Wesler officiating.  Burial will follow at Wares Chapel Cemetery, 1060 Foos Rd., West Manchester, OH. 

Family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 PM at the Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.barnesfuneralhome.com.
