Jean Agler

JEAN AGLER, 85, of State Route 726 Eldorado, OH passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at his residence. Jean was born on March 28, 1920 at the home of his parents, Hale & Esther (Trick) Agler, south of Eldorado in Preble County. He was a graduate of Monroe High School, Class of 1938. He married Anna Mae Howell on June 6, 1942 and they remained residents of Monroe Township, having farmed over 60 years. Jean was a member of the Eldorado Unitarian Universalist Church, a charter member of the Eldorado Lions Club and served as Monroe Township Trustee for 16 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his small orchard.

Jean was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife: Anna Mae; daughter: Carol Agler of Cincinnati; son: Gary Agler of New Madison; brother: Lowell Agler of Eaton; sisters: June Brooks of Eaton and Patricia Fortell of Westerville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 2005 at 11:30 AM at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH, with Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker officiating. Burial will be at Monroe Cemetery south of Eldorado. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
